[Cob] pine needles

What kind of pine?

Pinus species have needles that are suitable for baskets, but they're high
in resin (burn fast) and are very slippery--the resin put a nice shiny
finish on wood and metal.

When I was a kid we would take the sled down hills in the pine woods.
Stopping meant either hitting a tree or turning it over. Turning it over
was usually less painful.

The time my dad tried it on an old pair of skis (no bindings, no boots) he
broke his ankle in three places. Not more than twenty-five miles from where
these pictures were taken. (australis in this case just means southern)

In other words, TEST FIRST!

Has any one ever tried using pine needles instead of straw?

Any thoughts?

I was wondering if it might be OK for a cob stove or even regular walls.
