Hello All, Last month we sent out a call for volunteers. Several folks expressed interest but were too far away to help. If anyone is interested in seeing how it turned out, please check out our blog: http://umdarboretumandbotanicalgarden.blogspot.com/2015/09/wild-pollinators- move-into-their-new.html Cheers, Lisa Kuder From: The Kuder Family [mailto:treetops5 at comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, August 01, 2015 4:38 PM To: 'coblist at deatech.com' Subject: Learn cob building techniques while helping pollinators Volunteers needed! As part of an outreach program to raise awareness about pollinators, UMD's Entomology Dept. is sponsoring the building of a cob bee habitat wall. It will provide nesting sites for many species of non-aggressive wild bees and beneficial wasps. Experienced folk would be greatly appreciated but this is also a great learning opportunity for newbies, as experienced cobbler Ed Raduazo is teaching volunteers how to mix and utilize quality cob and recycled materials to create basic structures. Where: University of Maryland - College Park at the Arboretum Outreach Center When: 8/3 - 8/7 from 8 AM - 7 PM If interested, please contact Lisa Kuder for more details.
