Or you could set big stones in the concrete as it gets poured or as it dries 
enough to take their weight. We did this for ours and it seems to work ok, 
we just had to be careful not to break our thumbs on the stones once they 
were hidden by a bit of cob. This gets round the question of whether the 
rebar will rust out eventually.
