[Cob] Earthen floor with lime? Recipe?

For me if you have a thick enough stone/gravel base it is not water from 
below but from above and the vapour barrier traps the water in the cob 
and thats when the floors start gettin mildrew, mould, or even break up.
That is just my half penny input for what it worth, from my obsession of 
building with no or as little plastic as possible
