[Cob] Summer workshops

Hi all,

I was just on http://ilovecob.com/gallery/coboven/divaoven/ and am a 
little confused. I thought it was agreed that cement .wicks water into 
cob yet this particular cob oven has a ferro cement base.  Does ferro 
cement interact differently?

BTW It may very well be that I must wait until next spring to build. I'm 
trying to work things out with the Building Dept regarding my permit 
cost. If I must wait it would actually be a lot easier and I could start 
as early as April or May next year.

I'll keep you posted.
