[Cob] insulated cob with limeShody Ryon qi4u at yahoo.comTue Jul 21 18:29:22 CDT 2009
what climate will it be in? Are you insulating the roof and floor? Perhaps asking on yahoo group littlehouses, with the closest major city, would be a good idea. Littlehouses' Laren is a big cellulose fan and an expert with insulation. Also you may find Passive house interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passive_house with R 50 in the floors, as I recall. With super insulation, air tightness becomes a big concern and then stale air becomes likely without heat recovery ventilation. Either that or a commitment to having a fire burning wood stove (- or?) most window closing cold days, just for ventilation, which defeats the purpose of super insulation to some degree.
