Robert, There's no need for going commercial, that's what everybody (or most of us) here understand. No offense, but your clay skepticism seems to be grounded on lack of knowledge of what the material is. Have you been to a workshop or helped someone build with cob? If so, that experience itself should have washed away all doubts. But if it didn't, maybe you shouldn't go ahead with cob because you will constantly be worrying about your building. Finding clay good enough for cob isn't hard because it doesn't have to be pure and it doesn't have to be much. Here's a rule of thumb: it just has to be sticky. Damon
