[Cob] next floor idea - peanutsDulane silkworm at spiderhollow.comMon Feb 16 18:25:34 CST 2009
I considered peanuts, but I wanted to make sure the insulations stayed where I wanted it. I also considered the corn starch insulation (more organic), but figured it might get damp and fizz itself somewhere I least expected it, leaving an airspace to collapse the floor later. I just happened to have chunks of 1 in. when I was ready to do my floor...left over from some large package I ordered. I think the important thing is to make your floor mix dense and at least several inches thick so that floor stays rigid and the insulation stays where you want it. -----Original Message----- From: coblist-bounces at deatech.com [mailto:coblist-bounces at deatech.com] On Behalf Of Tys Sniffen Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2009 4:40 PM To: coblist at deatech.com Subject: [Cob] next floor idea - peanuts Anyone ever put Styrofoam peanuts over a gravel sub floor before putting down a clay floor? Seems like it can't hurt the insulation quality. Tys www.magnumdental.com <http://www.magnumdental.com/application.php?id=tm42> Reasonable Dental Insurance for Individuals...
