[Cob] clothes clay slip?

Has anyone ever heard of using old clothes in place of straw?  I imagine dipping them in clay slurry and stomping them into a form.  We might try this on an interior wall.  We have plenty of thrift store dumpsters to raid.
Any advice or discouragement?
