WHOA sport fans---- Jack wrote--- I live in Ohio and according to the map there are no State building codes for single family dwellings, right? Check this out.... Residential Commercial Statewide Residential Code: 2003 IECC Statewide Commercial Code: ASHRAE 04 State Amendments: No State Amendments: No Adoption by Local County/Jursidiction: Mandatory Adoption by Local County/Jursidiction: Mandatory Can use REScheck to show compliance: Yes Can use COMcheck to show compliance: Yes Notes on the State's Residential Code: Chapter 13 of the 2005 Ohio Building Code. Notes on the State's Commercial Code: ASHRAE 90.1-2004 became effective Sept. 6, 2005. Can show compliance to either 2003 IECC or 90.1-04. Approximate Stringency: As stringent as the 2003 IECC Approximate Stringency: As stringent as the ASHRAE 04 Current Status Comments: The 2003 IECC was adopted by the Board of Building Standards for Ohio, is mandatory statewide for residential and commercial buildings, and became effective March 1st 2005. The 2005 Ohio Building Code (OBC) was effective from March 1, 2005. However, because the publishers of the updated codes have not met their publishing deadlines, the Board of Building Standards has authorized the use of the 2002 OBC as an alternate compliance method until September 1, 2005. Because the OBC references the IECC, designs using the 2005 OBC must use the 2003 IECC, and designs using the 2002 OBC must use the 2000 IECC. Mixing of the codes will not be allowed, and submitted documents must be clearly marked with the set of codes used. http://www.com.state.oh.us/dic/pub/bbst_code_update.pdf State Website(s): Ohio Office of Energy Efficiency: http://www.odod.state.oh.us/cdd/oee/ https://www.com.state.oh.us/dic/BuildingCode.htm Primary Technical Contact: Steven P.
