[Cob] New Brunswick/ Nova ScotiaBob Ewing permafrog at hotmail.comSat Jun 17 12:16:03 CDT 2006
Greetings, new to the list and wondering if there is anyone with cob experience on Canada's east coast. We are considering building a cob house on our property in Nova Scotia, currently we are in New Brunswick. My wife and I have recently moved to Oregon and we are interested in the possibility of building a superadobe home. In searching the archives, it appears that several of you have done composite buildings of cob & superadobe & hay bales together. Has anyone completed a builiding that was straight superadobe? I have some questions and can't find any answers. Here goes: * How does a person get a building permit for a earth-walled structure? (I suppose that several of you have experience with this...) * How does a Superadobe structure respond to a wet environment (rainy or built in a moist place)? * What kind of foundation does it use? * What is the lifespan of a superadobe structure? * Is there a comprehensive source of superadobe information (book, video, guide, etc.) I can use to find answers so I don't have to be bothering you about it :) ? Thank you so much, Dane Laverty _______________________________________________ Coblist mailing list Coblist at deatech.com http://www.deatech.com/mailman/listinfo/coblist
