[Cob] Lint insulation???

Fire resistance is something to test--lightly spray each layer with a 
saturated borax solution? Then  see if it burns.  If it's flammable that 
way, adding it as fiber to a clay or lime plaster sounds like the best idea.

Also dryer lint is sort of like felt.  I've heard of people using it to 
cover a steel armture to make a sculpture--saving, I'd guess, the nicely 
colored stuff for the surface.

I have  also used  LINT as a fiber additive to a   clay plaster.  I had 
added  crushed gyp sheetrock leftovers,  adding water and a bit of clay and  
shredded paper, and it made a nice creamy mix for interor plastering
