I don't think the UV characteristics would standup
over a long enough time to make it worth the
effort.....I've seen that type of plastic just kinda
shred when left out in the environment as litter.

 The effort will be cutting and putting all of them
up, so you'd hope that it would last awhile longer
after all that.....if it was clay tiles or metal or
wood shakes they'd be there for decades or longer. The
sun is hell on most plastics and when they make
plastic lumber there has to be more chemicals added to
stop the UV degradation.
