Hello I was wondering if this could be put out on the cob list Natural Building Courses at White Oak Farm & Education Center With Shahoma McAlister, Prasad Boudreaux Coenraad Rogmanns, and Kiko Denzer White Oak Farm is a non-profit farm and education center located in the beautiful and biologically diverse Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon. All Workshops at the farm include home cooked organic meals, hands-on learning and lots of fun! Cob Building Course: July 16-23 During this eight day workshop you can expect to learn how to build beautifully sculpted cob walls. We will cover everything from finding and preparing materials to finishing your building off with an earthen plaster. Students will learn how to put in windows and doors, as well as sculptural details like niches and arches. We will also spend ample time discussing foundations and roof systems, house design and appropriate technologies. This workshop is an ideal introduction to natural building, leaving you with the confidence and the know-how to start building. Instructor: Coenraad Rogmanns. $600. Earthen Plasters and Floors Workshop: Sept. 9-11 In this workshop you will learn how to pour the various layers of an earthen floor, prepare straw bale and cob walls for plaster, select raw materials, mix plasters, add pigments for color, and apply plasters to both interior and exterior walls. Instructors: Shahoma McAlister and Prasad Boudreaux. $200. Cob Sculptures and Murals: Sept. 18 Learn basic techniques for large-scale sculpting in earth, from relief work to full-round monumental work. Kiko is adept at facilitating both adults and children through this process—Parents bring your children! Instructor: Kiko Denzer. $45.
