ancient building material is ecological, affordable and fun. Ocean 
Liff-Anderson, local entrepreneur and innovative leader in the field 
offers an inspiring slideshow and practical, hands on workshops.  Learn 
basic earthen design and construction techniques which can be used to 
create beautiful courtyard walls, sculpted benches, guest cottages, 
wood fired ovens and more!

Saturday, May 7, 2pm at Intaba's Wood Fired Eatery, 1115 SE Third, 
Corvallis, Oregon
- Designer and Builder Ocean Liff-Anderson takes us on an exciting 
journey from design through integration of earthen features into 
Oregon's only "hand sculpted restaurant"!  Slideshow is free and open 
to the public.

Earth Building Workshop Series, Saturdays, 9am - 3pm
- May 14, "Foundation & Design"  Beginning from the ground up, workshop 
covers building design & siting, foundation, drainage, plus passive 
solar design, roofing options
- May 21, "Basic Earth Building Techniques"  Covers material selection, 
cob mixing, application methods, built-in shelves & niches, arched 
windows & doors
- June 4: "Earthen Plasters & Finishes"  Learn about natural earthen 
finishes, interior and exterior plasters, beautiful earthen floors for 
cob & conventional homes

Workshops will be held at Ahimsa Sanctuary, a permaculture based 
retreat center located on the Mary's Peak Watershed, visit
