[Cob] Tsunami Green Rebuilding?Amanda Peck ap615 at hotmail.comFri Jan 7 14:48:05 CST 2005
Earthbag construction may be the fastest way to get emergency structures up, I thought, since I knew that Cal-Earth had proposed this before. So that's what I looked for, and found. Here, Khalili is talking about the two war areas that were hard hit, that the debris of war could be turned into shelter. http://www.alertnet.org/thefacts/reliefresources/110495007056.htm ................ dstewart wrote: As I'm in the begin of planing stage of my first green built home I've also been watching the massive destruction from the Tsunami in Asia. It's strikes me that the rebuild groups should (but more than likely won't) rebuild green. Something like Cob, padobe or papercrete with rubble foundations should work very well and server double duty in making used of some of the debris as building material instead of trash that needs to be hauled away. Also aid in controlling sanitation composting toilets could also be very helpful. Does anyone know of groups that are doing this kind of rebuilding? If so please post a link. _______________________________________________ Coblist mailing list Coblist at deatech.com http://www.deatech.com/mailman/listinfo/coblist
