Cob: Dog House /wall plasterTaylor Publishing-DirtCheapBuilder tms at northcoast.comThu Jun 5 16:06:28 CDT 2003
Thanks Dulane...great site info..and funny attempt to make an old world lime plaster "look" by mashing in some straw to the dog house walls! there is a great book to drool over called "Barkitecture" (pricey at $25.00- do a web search) many all color designs for doggie homes...from Zen style to outlandish mansions, to a round cob cottage with slate roof. My favorite is a miniature gypsy wagon, colorfully painted with a stained glass window featuring a portrait of the dog! Plus As a tip for people who want to try "old world" plaster as a test or small scale without buying lime just get some drywall compound ( powdered is cheapest or buy mixed in a tub), plaster it over a standard wall/ sheetrock, and trowel roughly to give the "look" of ancient walls.Have not tried it over cob, might stick, might not. There was an article on this in Fine HB a while back, well done.
