Cob: Using BricksW uwu at angelfire.comTue Dec 10 15:43:28 CST 2002
Kim Taking a workshop is definitely worth it. I took one a couple of years ago, and now I *know* I can build a cob structure (I just don't have a place to build!). I understand you are on a tight budget, and the cost of workshops has certainly kept me from taking any more than the one - however, if you talk to the company you'd like to host your workshop ahead of time, you may find that after paying to go to a workshop and LEARNING so much, then hosting one, you may come out pretty close to even, financially. (hmmm, run on sentence, or what? I hope you could follow that!) I worked with both Cobworks < http://www.cobworks.com > & Cob Cottage Company < http://www.deatech.com/cobcottage > when they ran a joint workshop, and I hightly reccommend either one of those companies (They'll travel anywhere). Both Pat Hennebery and Ianto Evans (virtually the "re-inventor" of cob) are extremely knowledgable and dedicated to long lasting, high quality building. (There are pics of the place I helped on at the Cobworks site, in the second set of photos.) Whatever path you choose, best of luck to you! --- \\/. If I remember correctly, you had to have already attended one of their workshops to host one; plus I think you have to have the finances to feed 20 or so people. If you know of others who might do it otherwise let me know, ok? > > Kim ____________________________________________________________ Get 25MB of email storage with Lycos Mail Plus!
