Cob: Re: Linseed Oil and soil cement floor.goshawk at gnat.net goshawk at gnat.netTue Oct 15 23:08:41 CDT 2002
Ok here's the deal. Been making cement floors in sections as I go along, after the lime plaster since I'm a bit messy when I plaster. The soil I live on is... well ...somewhat like the beach. I mix about 20% cement to this sandy soil and make my floor in section by hand. I've been using basically the formula for earthen floors to seal the floor. I've only done a small section, actually almost a mural type thing. Still drying now. Any thoughts on using : full strength linseed oil + bit of pigment : first layer: half strength linseed + half thinner + some pigment : second layer etc : reducing all but thinner for two more layers. as a sealer for my concrete / just dug the sand out of my yard / mixed with cement / floors.
