Cob: foundation idea

Any feedback from you foundation experts or people with experience or
failures?

Another idea is useing scrap tire bales.
For example in the following article it was used for a road
foundtation:    http://www.scraptirenews.com/00may2.html

Perhaps get the tire bales, drill holes and fasten key poles into them
for extra lateral support.  Probably not needed, but a possiblility.

Or maybe a french drain around a compact rammed stabilied
tire foundation?

Or just a stabilized gravel, soil, and lime foundation?  But
gravel
rocks alone would give more flexibilied than a dried
monolithic.
