Cob: roof insulationShawn Honeychurch ironfire at cyberlink.bc.caTue Mar 5 12:08:27 CST 2002
HI All Still working on our strawbale house design. I read these postings regularly, but usually don't have much to add. I've been reading up on roof insulation, though and had a question to post. It is suggested that you have insulation with an R value of 35 in your ceiling/attic/roof. I would like to use a natural material such as straw-clay panels or layers of cardboard or papercrete for insulation in our roof, but have no idea of the R value for such methods. Anyone know how paper or straw-clay compare to pink insulation? I wonder how thick I'd need to make my straw-clay panels or papercrete, or how thick to layer in cardboard. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! -- Robynn Invermere, BC --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
