Cob: cow dung flungCharmaine R Taylor tms at northcoast.comTue Nov 6 16:47:03 CST 2001
I can give 3 anecdotals (sp?) on dung in cob/earth. . its also been used in Africa and other countries ( Like UK, etc) for centuries to add to the plasters of earth, adds a waterproof abilty, plus it has organic fiber from a vegan source. :> 2. Becky Bee, adds dried cow pieces into her cob mix then just stomps with her feet...for the squeamish probably gloves and shoe are best...I have heard of a fingernail fungus that can develop in humans, but hopefully the cows are healty. 3. Back to Africa A recent Peace Coprs worker I volunteer with locally was in Africa for 3 years and confims her hut was platered ( over a woven reed/wattle wall) with a clay and dung mix, and she did some of it herself to patch up areas.
