Great idea!

Another suggestion:  Build a double story cob doll's house, complete with
doll's furniture.  Might require the straw to be chopped up rather fine and
the clay to sand ratio to be a bit thicker [more clay, less sand].  Or you
could use horse hair, which is finer than straw and more in the right scale
of things.
