corbelling is when you move inward a bit on every bag(using the earth bags this example) thus the circle gets tighter as you lay bags. The shape of the dome is not round but sort of a lancet type arch. They will be higher than a round dome, that is the height can be the same as the diameter of the dome. The down pours are not what you have to worry about, it's the long slow drizzles that last days and days, thats what you have to worry about.
