Cob: cob sound installation

Hey, 

I am an artist who works with sound and sculpture. I
hope to build a domed structure out of cob as a part
of an installation in a gallery in 2000.  I have some
questions about getting supplies when living in a
city. I am buying some straw, and plan to dig up some
earth, then I was going to add something that was
recomended to give clay content called "Turface Quick
Dry".  If anyone has any suggestions as to other store
bought materials I'd really appreciate it. I'm
planning on buying one of the how to books on cob that
are available, but would like to start experimenting
now.

I'd appreciate any knowledge anyone can give,
