Cob Ferro-cement-Lime in clayOtherfish at aol.com Otherfish at aol.comTue Oct 27 21:25:57 CST 1998
Jud I did a small foundation of busted concrete slab mortared with cob worked fine until sombody nicked it with a car -busted out a chunk -wouldn't have happened with a cement mortar -this sez to me cob is fine as a mass material (that's where it is strong - as a mass structure) mortar joints are too thin - too streched out to be effectively done with something as low strength as cob traditionally lime / sand mortars have been used with success use of the appropriate material for the task is the moral of the story regards john fordice TCCP otherfish at aol.com
